It’s nearly time… our new single ‘Rainbird’ is out on Monday. Hurrah!
Driven by raspy, angry acoustic guitar and dramatic cello and violin arrangements, ‘Rainbird’ is an epic story about tortured mistresses and muses of 1960s rock legends.
The song was composed by the Nova’s Basement girls in late 2010 through a collaboration with fashion designer Kelly Love (http://www.kellylove.com). Love originally wrote a poem entitled ‘Song of the Rainbird’ to inspire her latest collection, and asked N.B. if they would ‘magic’ it into an epic anthem.
In January 2011, N.B. popped into an East London studio with their favourite London Producer, Ian Dowling to lay their new single. Dowling also produced N.B.’s self-titled EP back in 2008 and more recently, engineered KT Tunstall’s new album and mixed two tracks for Adele’s latest album.
